My introduction to the wilderness began when I was fresh out of Los Angeles and volunteered as a backcountry ranger in Yosemite National Park. I was stationed in a remote part of the park where I didn’t encounter a singe person for three months. That year I found a home in the rugged granite, pine trees and mountain lakes. In the woods, I was able to love myself for the first time, push myself beyond my limits and discover places I still call home. My time in Yosemite ended with a two week solo hike across the park and back and later, a month long excursion into the wilderness around the park with my dog.
Since that time I have hiked thousands of miles through forests, wilderness and National Parks. Despite these journeys, there is still so much I want to discover. Capturing the wilderness through photography and story is how I share the places that have changed who I am. My work has been featured in Kodak advertisements, Mountain Dog Magazine, Steamboat Magazine, Mountain House& Home and Gerber-Berend Design Build.
